When you look at celebrity trainer Jillian Michaels, it's hard not to be amazed at how fit and healthy she is. If you ever wonder what she eats to stay so slim and strong, wonder no more. We spoke to her about her daily diet, and we're about to pass along some of her greatest tips.
Jillian's favorite source of protein is salmon and for good reason. Salmon is an incredible source of omega-3 fatty acids, which lower your blood pressure, contribute to a healthier heart, and reduce inflammation in your body. This helps you recover faster from workouts and build more muscle. Plus, all that protein will help you along your weight-loss journey.
"Fat is stored energy, and calories are units of energy," Jillian told POPSUGAR. "Eat too many calories, and you store them as fat. To lose fat, you must burn stored calories. Therefore, eating [healthy] and training for calorie burn — HIIT intervals, weight lifting, circuit training — are the keys to losing fat."
