What's a Healthy Blood Pressure?

What's a Healthy Blood Pressure?

You know when you go to the doctor the nurse wraps that thing around your upper arm and squeezes the air pump? Then they tell you a number that you most likely forget. This number is your blood pressure and it's actually important.

So, what's healthy in terms of blood pressure?

The Answer is B. Less 140/80 Why should you care? High blood pressure is a risk factor for heart disease (which is currently the #1 killer among women), so if either your systolic (higher number) or diastolic (lower number) number is above 140/80, then you’re more at risk for heart disease. High blood pressure can be controlled by maintaining (or attaining) healthy weight with diet and exercise.
