Great article! I started running 4 years ago and learned these things from personal experience. What you wear makes a huge difference in how you feel during and after a run, especially when you run longer distances.  Supportive shoes and clothes that don't leave you chafed and bleeding are critical...and yes, if run 10K or further with a seam rubbing your skin the whole time, you will be bleeding.

Getting shoes at a running store is a great tip, I've bought them before on my own at regular shoe stores and regretted it. Having the guidance of a running pro helped me get a great pair (over a year and they still fit like new).
