Which High-Calorie Holiday Treat Will You Avoid This Year?

Holiday treats may be delicious and decadent, but sampling a few can make you hit your daily calorie quota in one meal. So which food will you drool over but refuse to indulge in because it's too high in calories?

well this was a tough one given that i don't usually eat most of those anyway during the holidays. since i've been going to texas to my fiance's family for xmas the past 3 years - they have been making pecan pie and i've tried it in the past. this year i didn't even have ONE bite :) aren't you proud?

It's kind of funny, but I don't like any of the traditional "holiday" foods - eggnog is gross, cookies are blegh (I don't like the texture), pie is something I've never liked, and I can't drink... plus I've just gone vegetarian. Holiday treats present no temptation to this picky eater :-p
I'm just trying to drink less alcohol especially beer. I'm sticking to red wine this year.

All of the above. And the only one I would consider eating is the cookies (hate eggnog, pie, etc...) so I chose that lol. I have been good so far, the only real thing I've indulged in is some sparkling cider and a few chocolates, which were worth it. :)

I don't really have any of those things and the cheesecake I made is pretty light anyway. If there's another dessert (which of course there will be) at my aunt's house I would probably have a bit of that one if I like it and a bigger piece of my own cake. I know some people feel like indulging on the holidays, but it's not exactly the part of the holidays I actually get enjoyment out of or really care as much about.

I'm avoiding all of those things...I don't care for eggnog, pecan pie, cookies, or all of those fatty things. I prefer to indulge in a nice glass of wine and a few pieces of dark chocolate. I don't like to go overboard on Christmas.

I am seasoning a little bit of pumpkin with nutmeg and cinnamon, but I will not be eating any holiday goodies. I had a terrible binge involving pralines and cake last week, and generally I am now planning on not splurging for a very long time as punishment to myself for being so vile.

How about all of the above! I wish, but I will likely treat myself to one dessert, but no booze.

Where's the 'All of the Above' ?

All of the above, but not really because of the calorie content. I just don't care much for any of them.

I can't eat gluten and they throw gluten into everything, so I will not be eating, only watching others eat. Celiac disease sucks.

I don't like eggnog or pecan pie so I'll be staying away from those...don't think i've ever had buttered rum but i wouldn't be opposed to trying it ;), and yeah I'd definitely dig on some cookies. My grandparents told me they sent me homemade goodies and I've been running up to the mailbox everyday waiting for them. Come on already post office! :mob:

I agree with the others who said it's the holidays! I am one of those who thinks "Everything in moderation, including moderation" (of course, I am not the one who came up with the quote, that was Oscar Wilde, I am pretty sure), but I like it. I don't overindulge on anything, but I'll sample all of the various treats at hand. My mom and I are trying to figure out what cookies to bake today (which is entirely dependent on what we have in the house, as there's a ton of snow on the ground, and more is on the way).

I do agree that it IS Christmastime, and splurging is alright sometimes :)

Cookies. I don't like eggnog anyway.

I am indulging this holiday season. I never really celebrated before, but something about my hubby is making me enjoy this season to its fullest now. As long as I keep up my cardio I'm good with the treats.

The only item I go for on the list is the cookies! But chocolate wasn't on the list and I do like a few chocolates after a meal!

During the holidays, everything is calorie free. ;)

It's CHRISTMASSSSSSS. I've been baking for weeks. I usually will eat HALF of a treat though and like give the rest to my boyfriend or something. ;p

Actually I'll avoid all that but the cookies. I don't eat pecan pie or drink eggnog and hot buttered rum. (I'm a weirdo.)

Oh, and my BF's parents own an ice cream shop, so I've been trying not to taste test too much.

I haven't avoided them completely, but I've been trying to be good about the cookies. The rest of it I don't eat anyway, so that's simple.

I guess it's a good thing I'm not really a huge fan of Pecan Pie, I think it's probably one of the fattiest choices up there.
