Which SPF Do You Regularly Wear?

Summer always reminds us to lather up the sunscreen. In the colder months, I wear SPF 30 on my face every day, but in the Summer I wear it all over my body. I know I am not the only one covering up with sunscreen right now, but which SPF do you generally use?

I wear spf 15 on my face every day as that's what's in my moisturiser, and factor 40 all over on hot days/holiday. I live in England, so I just don't wanna be all greasy when the sun isn't even shining!

SPF 30 anytime, although for the summer I try to look for sunscreen with higher SPF.

I think there should be more choices in this poll. It really makes a difference if you're wearing spf 29 (blocks more than 90%) instead of 2(blocks 50 %). I usually wear 20, but I also probably live further in the north than most of you (in Helsinki, Finland) :P

I can't believe people still this that just because you don't burn you're not affected by the sun. Hasn't anyone learned anything from all the skin cancer information that's EVERYWHERE these days? I always wear 30-45. my face lotion is 28, my make up has some in it and I usually spray my face with the 45 spray too. if I'm going outside at all (I work from home, so don't have to often). I'm with Spectra, I like the neutrogena spray too.

A couple of so of you have mention the aveeno spray. I have use the spray sunscreen before and have found it to be messing, if you use it indoor, (leave a shine and product on walls or what is close by when you use it) how is the aveeno spray?

I use SPF 30 every day, but if I'm going to be out in the sun for a long time, I use SPF 50 or more. I like the helioplex stuff from Neutrogena...seems like it works better on my skin for whatever reason. I'm pretty fair, so I am constantly putting sunscreen on when I'm out in the sun for any length of time.

I use SPF 15 on my face every day, and when I know I'll be outside for an extended period of time, I use SPF 45 on my face and SPF 30 on my body. I need to use sunscreen *everywhere* and *all the time*, but I forget...

I use Aveeno Continuous Protection Sunblock Spray with a SPF of 45. :)

Usually 15 to 30. I usually do not go above 30, the protection percentage after 30 goes down - well after 15 really, but not as much as after 30.

45-50 when possible. I use Clinique City Block SPF 40 on my face plus my BE makeup is SPF 15.

The highest I can find! I honestly don't know if it makes much difference over 30 or not, but it makes me feel better.

I have 15 in my moisturizer and makeup which I use daily. If I'm know I'm going to be spending extra time outside I'll use something stronger.

I have very pale, sensitive skin and I have been wearing moisturizer with sunscreen everyday since middle school. :-) However, most of the face creams/lotions that work best with my skin only have SPF 15. Does anyone have recommendations for a SPF 30 moisturizer that is okay for sensitive skin? I'm ready to amp up my protection. PS: I was very proud of myself this weekend. I went to a waterpark and reapplied SPF 70 religiously, and came out just as pasty white as I am went in. Woo!

Right now I use the Stila Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 for everyday use. I live in Los Angeles, where it is pretty bright all year round, and I have very fair skin that burns easily. I also tried the Lorac and Laura Mercier spf 30 tinted moisturizers and the Stila is my favorite so far. When I plan to be in the sun for a long time I use Aveeno SPF 45, which is ok, but I will probably look for a higher SPF now that it is getting very hot and sunny here. I have very oily skin so I have to make sure the sunblock is oil-free. The Shiseido 55 looks nice but so expensive... I will see what the drugstore has first.

If I am spending the day in the sun & shade, it's a 22 for my face, and a 15 for my body. If it's just incidental exposure, it's more of a 15.

oh i forgot to mention.. most sunblock lotions break down in the heat, so don't use old sunblock from last year, or don't expect for your sunblock to work as well if you leave it in the sun or heat. so throw away your old sunblock, and store sunblock out of the heat. since i live in nothern california where the summers get up to 116 degrees!.. my apartment gets hot when i'm away, so i keep my sunblock in the fridge. and when i go out to the lake or beach, i keep my sunblock in the ice chest as well.

"And Francoisehardly, I've got a tube of SPF 30 chap stick that I keep in my bike bag for easy grabbing; it is Ocean Potion brand, is water resistat, and has aloe vera." Thanks. I'm going to look for it.

i really like a new sunblock that applies on with a spray. it is from aveeno, and i have spf 35. it also comes in spf 70, but so far the spf 35 is great. what is neat is how i can also hold the bottle upside down while i spray it on too. it is pricey, but it's worth it. plus it feels cool when spraying it on. it smells nice, and it isn't greasy either. it lasts long, and i've used it while playing tennis, and it lasts all three hours i plat in the 80 degree sun with one application, and sweat doesn't affect it. so i use the aveeno for when i know i will be outdoors for a while in the sun. but for everyday, i barely started using face cream with sunblock. i found a new product a week ago, and so far i like it a lot. my face feels much softer. it is called Garnier Nutritioniste Anti Sun Damage Moisture Lotion SPF 28. ( i copied and pasted the product name since i forgot the brand name.) :p so far i have a week using it, and for 12 bucks for only 2 ounces, but i find it worth the cost so far. a little goes a long way, and i use it only on my face. i can't say if it reverses sun damage, but it sure changed the feel of my face. i was using nivea q10 firming cream, which was good too, but it has no sunblock.

I stick with the 15 that's in my moisturizer. I don't really wear sunscreen on my body, but I'm part native american and I've never burnt in my life.

I've read that higher that 25-30 SPF will in turn irritate your skin and clog your pores, and that 30 and 50 is pretty much the same. So I wear titanium and zinc based sunscreen between SPF 20 and 30. And I'm really pale, but my skin is really sensitive as well. I'm having trouble finding a lip balm with physical sunscreen.

Most oftentimes, I'm indoors and I don't even go outside even for days because my job is based at home and because I'm East Asian with dark brown skin, I wear SPF 15 to 20 when I'm outside.
