Natalie Dormer Went Through a "Spinning Phase" Just Like the Rest of Us

Nov 11 2015 - 9:30am

Natalie Dormer showed off her fit figure as Women's Health's December cover star. The 33-year-old British transplant is currently promoting The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2; Dormer plays the rebellious, überintimidating Cressida and will be at Katniss Everdeen's (played by Jennifer Lawrence [1]) side throughout the series' final installment (both on screen and on the red carpet, as this accidental yet adorable kiss between them shows [2]). Check out what Dormer had to say about her fitness routine, juicing obsession, and extremely tame guilty pleasures.

On working out: "I love to exercise. I like to run a lot. I find running quite therapeutic — I find it's good for my mind, for my body. I feel that way about yoga as well. I've been practicing yoga now since I was in my early 20s. As long as I got my yoga mat and my trainers [sneakers] with me, I'm pretty sorted wherever I shoot or travel in the world."

"I went through a mad Spinning phase—I think most people go through a Spinning phase. I definitely went through the Spinning obsession phase. I tried aerial yoga for the first time at the beginning of the year—that was kind of groovy. But I'm always open to new experiences, and if a friend takes a class that they really love, I'm always game to try something new."

On juicing: "I'm massively a fan of juicing. I had some friends that started me juicing a little while ago and I love it. It's so good for you. You really notice the difference—I've noticed the difference in my skin and my hair since I've committed to juicing better."

On her guilty pleasures: "I'm quite easy. As long as there is hummus and coconut water in the refrigerator, I'm a happy girl. Even my vices are going to be good for me. I like my red wine—that is good for you, for your heart and so-forth. I love my dark chocolate—so that's antioxidants. I'm a coffee girl as well. I like my caffeine. It stimulates you, gets you ready for your run."
