Are You Accident Prone?

I grew up in a family that was really active, and I'm grateful that as a young girl I was encouraged to get out and play hard, but I definitely paid the price. Whether I was falling off my bike and skinning my knee, or getting hit in the nose with a soccer ball, I always seemed to be getting hurt. I didn't mind the cuts and bruises too much, unless it prevented me from running around.

Since I'm still very active, I still find myself getting hurt. I guess that comes with the territory. So I was wondering . . .

I'm always getting hurt. Part of the reason I HATED gym class when I was in school. what with me getting whacked in the head with the ball on a frequent basis, I certainly was not encouraged to do anything more than sit down and duck the flying objects.

I always have countless bruises and a constant stream of injuries, mainly joints. Within 12 months my physio has dealt with had 17 different injuries on me...still love being active though. I've recently given up soccer and competitive running(to hopefully slow the injury rate!), leaving me with swimming and competitive cycling :)

I can't get hurt for nothing.....i mean the last time i was in the hospital I was born.....so......i've got god odds on being healthy and all limbs in tact....

I used to overwork my body and get injured when I got too intense into a workout regime.

i get a little off balance at times but i catch myself in the end. but on occasion i'm prone to stubbing a toe or getting scratched my a sharp corner...

No, not really...never really been the clumsy type or prone to accidents. On occasion of course, but nothing abnormal.

I have a spatial relationship disorder that messes with my depth perception and I am quite possibly the most klutzy person I know. I've got scars all over my hands from accidents in the kitchen, I have a scar on my elbow from a nasty fall I had, I trip on stuff all the time, I bump into things...once, I lost my balance in the shower and fell out of the tub, bringing the shower curtain down with me. If you add just one letter to my last name, you get the word "klutz" and my parents always tell me how appropriate that is, lol.

i am sooooooo accident prone! i have broken my arm, broken my wrist, sprained my wrist, sprained my ankle twice, hyperextended my knee, and dislocated my knee twice.

I'm one of those people that can walk through a room that only has a table in the middle of it ... and the table will reach out and trip me up!! I get too focused on what I'm doing and don't pay attention, I guess. Luckily, no broken bones or the like ... just bruises or scrapes!

I can't walk in a straight line without falling over. I'm very accident prone though I never get seriously injured. Just bruises or light scratches.

I think I am the clumsiest person I know. Plus I bruise very easily - not a good combination.

Yeah, I am a klutz too. So lots of bumping into things and bruises. Luckily, the only serious injuries I've ever had were a broken foot and a dislocated knee, both a result of throwing myself too passionately into a jazz pirouette (on two different occasions).

I'm REALLY clumsy, usually running into stuff. I get BIG dark bruises, and have NO idea where they came from. Oddly though, if I remember running into something, I don't usually get a bruise! Weird. I am currently waiting on the purple one above my elbow to fade, and glad the DOUBLE green/blue bruises on my legs faded in time to wear a short dress for the S&tC outing I'm going to on Saturday.

I am so accident prone! I am the biggest spastic and what's worse is that I bruise VERY easily so I look like I am constantly beat up!

i used to be quite possibly the MOST accident prone person in the world. we're talking an un-godly amount of broken bones. the ER knew me, my orthopedist was sending his children to college along with all the kids on his block just on what i paid him. these days i've been a bit better.

I have never broken, fractured or strained a bone or muscle in my body. I did however, twist my ankle once. I think paper cuts are my worst injury :P Well, I did get a small second degree burn on my ankle last summer, but that was from drunken stupidity camping...

i am always hurting myself... i think most of it has to do with the fact that i am a total klutz.

Oh lord, I've been thru the ringer. I've got two heel spurs, loose tendons in one ankle, missing half the cartilidge in my bad knee & have been hit in the good knee with a softball. I pulled my hip flexor once & still feel residual pain every once in a while. I have broken my wrist, broken my hand off (long story, it's back in place now), broken almost all toes, and several fingers & I have bursitis in one of my shoulders. Alas, I still love my sports & athletics!

It's not so much I'm a klutz, it's just that, like Lolababy575, I climb and get all banged up. I come up with some doozy bruises and can never explain them properly!

Well I grew up playing sports about 3-4 times a week and never ever ever got an injury. (I mean, yeah I got bruises and stuff, but nothing major) Well the past few months/year I've been training a lot for races, running more and playing soccer and I feel like every month I have a different pull, twist, sprain. It's so aggravating! I feel like I must be getting older! ;) Right now I'm nursing a swollen/twisted ankle. I want to run again! :rant:
