Are You in a Love/Hate Relationship With Running?

I'm in a love/hate relationship with running. Often I hate doing it because it's physically hard, and difficult to fit into my busy life. Although I also love it because it makes me strong and calms me down.

I think a lot of people must hate running more than they love it, and New Balance is trying flip people's attitudes the other way. Check out their new commercial and tell me, how are you in a love/hate relationship with running?

j2e. so, by your logic, you don't have recreational sex either? because it is unnatural? no other animal (besides dolphins) have sex just for fun. animals in the wild only use sex as a method of procreation.

p.s. I also hate the blisters you can get ....

I LOVE this post!!! I totally agree. I hate the fact that I procrastinate until the last moment before I have to run. I hate the fact that I'm thinking what people behind me are thinking of my butt when I run :) But I've been doing it for years, and I know that it's better for me than the crappy elliptical and more full-body than the bike. The few times I'm out on a beautiful day with a beautiful path/trail, those are the most fun runs.

I don't hate running at all. I think I love just about everything about gets me out of the house, makes my body look great, burns a ton of calories, makes me feel GREAT for the rest of the day, gives me energy....etc, etc, etc. Sometimes when my toes hurt or my tendonitis acts up, I can't wait for my run to be over, but overall I think it's one of the best forms of exercise out there.

Oh I definitely have a love/hate relationship with running.. especially since my knee's been acting up lately. It's my favorite form of exercise, but sometimes it just hurts!

This ad is creative and fresh! Also, did anyone else receive a NB door hanger today as part of this LOVE/hate promotion? I found a nice surprise on my door when I came home today. It's cute red door hanger that says,"Do Not Disturb. I just got back from a hot date with running and I'm all hot and sweaty." On the other side it says,"Come Back Later. I'm out on a hot date with running."

I guess I'm the first to say that I only have a love relationship with running. I am purely addicted to it. I already start thinking about my next run immediately after I've finished one. I get a high when I'm running. Oh and not to mention, the awesome body that running has whipped me in to be. =) Running is life.

This is a great commercial. Some days I love running, some days I absolutely dread it. However, on the days I dread it, when I force myself to run, I feel so much better after i'm done!

i love this commercial! however, that love-hate-thing is absolutely true. most of the time i hate it, but i'm totally glad after a long run. i really wish i could motivate myself more often!

I'm pretty sure I'm in a hate/hate relationship with running. I realized long ago (not long after my boobs fully developed.....coincidence?) that I was not meant to be a runner.

What a great commercial! And yes, its so true. I definitely have a love/hate relationship with running. I can sometimes psych myself out about how difficult a run will be before I even put on my gym clothes. But I also can sometimes trick myself saying that I will just go walk, b/c once I get out there I know I will be telling myself 'hey, youre already here, might as well push yourself a little more!' And I always feel so great after a run.

Dont like running. Think its unnatural. What other animal runs for long period of times without reason? Think about it, other animals run to get away from something or to chase something. Humans are the only weirdos who run for the fun of it. I prefer walking, much more normal activity! :D

I was having this exact same thought this morning, as I dragged my out of shape self outside to run for a bit. I'd been doing so well, then went off it for a few weeks and getting back into it is hard!!! But then I got home and felt really good and proud of myself for getting out there. Love/hate it is!

i definitely have a love/hate relationship with running too. i love the way i feel afterwards and the satisfaction i get knowing i just ran, but while i'm doing it, i'm pretty close to miserable.

this is kind of a weird commercial, but I like the idea. It's true, I have a love/hate with running. I think mostly because it's still so hard for me!

completely agree - i love running bc of what it does for my mind and body, but i just wish i had more time to do it and do it well!

I have the neatest trick for when you just DON'T want to run. I just say to myself "That's 100% okay...let's just jog on the treadmill at a very slow and easy pace today. It's not going to kill me to go slow one day." Huzzah, by the time I'm 10 minutes in, I start doing crazy fast intervals, so it goes to show that you just have to get your butt outside or on the treadmill.
