I do not believe in magic pills that will cure all your ailments, and I find that so many supplement companies feel like a frustrating ex — lots of talk with very little action. I had been hearing all about the Arrae Bloat ($48) supplements, and per usual, I was skeptical. However, I am happy to report that these pills actually have worked for me, and I'll tell you why.

Before I get into this, a few general disclaimers: these pills will not give you a flat stomach overnight or make you lose 25 pounds immediately. It's also important to talk to your doctor about supplements, especially if you're also taking medication, as the two can sometimes interfere.

The most exciting part of this pill, to me, is the speed at which it works. In under an hour, I felt relief from a distended and uncomfortable stomach, and I was actually able to go to bed.

I, like many people, have suffered from bloating from time to time. It is not comfortable, and I do not enjoy it. The Arrae bloat pills are a blend of five herbs and a digestive enzyme that are meant to reduce heartburn, speed up food breakdown, and prevent gas. To get specific, the pills consist of bromelain, ginger root, peppermint, lemon balm, dandelion root, and slippery elm, which I liked because they're all ingredients I'm familiar with. One night after dinner, I went hard on some chocolate almonds, and for some reason, it didn't make me feel great. I decided to try this pill out; you take it on an as-needed basis, not every day or night. The most exciting part of this pill, to me, is the speed at which it works. In under an hour, I felt relief from a distended and uncomfortable stomach, and I was actually able to go to bed. Under normal circumstances, I would be in pain all night and have trouble sleeping. This was a major win for me, and I decided to test it again.

I have tried these pills post pizza, ice cream, and even too many brussels sprouts, all of which make me feel great in the moment but less so afterwards. These pills actually work, and they're also a game changer when traveling. I take two generally, and three if I'm really feeling uncomfortable, and I love knowing that I can enjoy any food I like, and if for some reason I end up uncomfortable, I have a secret weapon.
