For Lounging by the Pool in Las Vegas

"I'm heading to Vegas in June for a friend's birthday — and if there are two things Vegas brings in the summer, it's the heat and the color. So I'm getting on board for both. For the day spent lounging by the hotel pool, I'm keeping these lightweight linen pants [1] ($79) on hand to throw over my swimsuit when I want to meander over to the bar or take a moment away from the sun. And for a night out, I'm going all out in a blazing-fuchsia matching set: this crop tank [2] ($69) and these cargo pants [3] ($179) are the vibe." — Aviel Kanter, content director

For Traveling For Wedding Season

"It seems like all of my friends are getting married this year, so my summer will be all about catching flights to bachelorette parties and out-of-town weddings. A comfy-cool outfit that can take me from the plane to any activity is essential. I'll be throwing on a cropped white tank [4] ($20-$44) and these linen joggers [5] ($79) for a cute but casual look I can wear for anything from exploring downtown Nashville to brunch with friends in LA." — Annalise Mantz, editor

For Day Trips to the Beach

"I'm planning on spending as much time as possible at the beach this summer, which means lots of long, breezy walks by the water and early-morning boardwalk jogs. To help prevent burns, I plan on slathering on SPF and investing in lightweight clothing that provides extra sun protection, like this top [6] ($79) with UPF protection. For impromptu swim workouts, I'm eyeing Athleta's Deep Sea One Piece Swimsuit [7] ($129). I love the keyhole back!" — Victoria Moorhouse, content director

For a Couples Trip to Mexico

"I'm going to Cancún with my husband and our friends later this month, and I'm so excited to enjoy some serious R&R time at the pool and on the beach. While I'll admittedly be living in swimsuits for the most part (and getting tons of use out of this lavender bikini top [8] ($54) and bottom [9] ($44)), I love a comfortable yet chic travel outfit. I always put a lot of thought into what I wear en route, and more often than not, I find myself in Athleta. My favorite bottoms are the Brooklyn Ankle Pant [10] ($89) — they feel like pajamas but they're so stylish and can be dressed up or down. For this trip, I'll definitely be wearing those styled with a cropped tank [11] ($49) and a light jacket [12] ($60-$108, originally $108) for the chilly plane." — Kathleen Owens, editor

For a Weekend on Fire Island

"The summer trip on my calendar that's getting me through these rainy spring days is a June weekend with friends on Fire Island in New York. We've got a rental house already booked, so now I can turn my attention to what to pack. These wide-leg pants [13] ($79) are my go-to for beach vacations, especially for the fickle weather of June, because they slide easily over a swimsuit and can be paired with a sweater for chilly nights. Speaking of suits, I'm a sucker for patterned bikinis, which means this bikini top [14] ($59) in a cute green floral is also going in my bag. As for nights out, one of the things I love about Fire Island is how casual it is — this dress [15] ($98) is the fanciest thing I'll need all weekend (it's even got a zippered pocket to hold my phone). Catch me pairing it with flip-flops and a rocket fuel, the island's signature drink." — Andrea Morabito, content director

For Hiking Around Yosemite National Park

"This summer I'm planning on staying super active. But one adventure that I'm already counting down to is a hiking trip in Yosemite National Park. I'll be headed to the park in August, so I'm expecting pretty hot weather. That's why I'll be packing breathable and comfy shorts [16] ($69) as well as dual-purpose tops like Athleta's Aurora Scoop Crop Tank [17] ($44), which will go perfectly from intense hiking to spa day (yes, my campsite has an on-site spa). But as with any hiking trip, it's better to be overprepared with a zip-up [18] ($98) just in case clouds roll in. Lastly, I'm skipping my purse and opting for an easy-to-carry sling like this one [19] ($38)." — Caitlin Miller, editor

For a Family Trip to Puerto Rico

"I'm hoping to go to Puerto Rico this summer to visit family. When I pack for a trip to a tropical climate, I like to plan light and comfortable outfits that don't sacrifice style. Athleta's Keys Aurora Tank [20] ($59) would be a perfect complement for both utility [21] ($179) and cropped pants [22] ($89). I could easily wear one of these effortless fits on the plane, running errands, visiting with family, or driving to the beach." — Julia Gómez Kramer, editor
