The Tokyo Olympics may just be getting underway, but the logo for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris has already been revealed [1], and people have, um . . . opinions about it. The logo combines three symbols [2]: the Olympic flame, a gold medal [3], and Marianne, the woman who has stood as the personification of liberty and the French Republic since the French Revolution of 1789 — or that's what the organizers were going for, anyway. When the logo was first revealed in 2019, Twitter interpreted things a bit differently, as critics compared the design to the Tinder logo, a sultry Parisian woman, Rachel Green from Friends, and more.
