Jordan Chiles finished third overall at the 2021 US Gymnastics Championships, two weeks after she was runner-up at the GK US Classic. She's considered a serious contender for the four-person Olympic team, and as of 2019, she started training alongside Simone Biles at World Champions Centre in Spring, TX. Above, watch her floor routine from night two of Championships. It showcases skills that soar and glide through the air — sort of like a superhero.

In fact, amid Chiles's powerful tumbling, such as her full-twisting double layout, you'll hear music inspired by the Spider-Man films. "He can fly; he can shoot webs; he can do this," Chiles, 20 and a future UCLA Bruin, said after her victory at February's Winter Cup, according to Gymnastics Now. "That's kind of like us. As athletes, we can do anything we put our minds to." She placed fourth on floor with a two-night total of 27.550. As it turns out, she also debuted routines inspired by Wonder Woman herself in 2018.

Once Chiles finished her routines on night two of competition, she was visibly emotional. Biles, who won her seventh national all-around title, proceeded to reassure her teammate that she belonged on the podium. "I'm happy she got to go out there and show the world what she's capable of," Biles said on NBC after the fact, talking about Chiles, "because she deserves it."
