Khloé Kardashian's Fabletics edit is notoriously sexy and splashy — I previously tested the glitter jumpsuit at Solidcore [1] and felt like I was in a functional costume for class, and I mean that in the best possible way. The latest drop, however, taps into everyone's favorite trend du jour: booty-enhancing tech. From Spanx's sculpting jeans [2] to the Skims butt-enhancing line [3], nearly every shapewear/activewear brand seems to be experimenting with compression fabric to highlight our backsides, and I can't say I mind.

Kardashian, 40, has been working with Fabletics for a couple of years, but this "Khloé Edit" [4] marks her first official co-design project. "For me, when I'm feeling good in what I'm wearing, it makes me feel extra confident in my workout. Being able to have a hand in bringing that to life through the design process was a really special experience for me," she says of the collection, naming the leggings as her go-to pick since they're easy to mix and match with tops depending on the day's agenda. "[They] keep everything lifted and put in the right place with Fabletics's new booty-defining technology. Leggings are a staple in my wardrobe, so finally having ones that not only keep up with my activity, but make my butt look the best it ever has is a total game-changer."

Kardashian's most striking and skin-revealing piece from the line in my opinion is the Fabletics Seamless Scrunch Zip Front Jumpsuit [5] ($110), which she wears in the accompanying campaign with chunky gold jewelry to make a style statement. Of course, it all begs the question: just how functional is this backless catsuit during a workout? Since Kardashian mentions that she's really into strength training right now — "I love how it constantly challenges me and makes me feel my strongest, but also allows me to keep up with my active kids," she says — I decided to test out the backless number for a bike bootcamp at home. The workout involves cycling segments as well as strength moves with weights on the floor, so there's plenty of movement involved.

What I Like About the Fabletics Seamless Scrunch Zip Front Jumpsuit

Once everything is secured in place, this jumpsuit is buttery-soft and stretchy — but not so stretchy that it lacks in sculpting or feels too worn-in after an hour or two of wear. I can definitely attest to the new Fabletics booty-scrunch fabric, as I felt like my shape was well-defined in the butt region and even lifted a bit, too. Because the backless silhouette is so striking, I'd definitely style this piece up for brunch or errands post-gym, perhaps even with the Fabletics Sheer Rib Shrug [7] ($65), which Kardashian recommends for "an extra dose of sexiness." She also notes that she likes to wear the jumpsuit with underwear that's comfortable and sweat-wicking, which I, too, recommend.

I also love a workout look that's versatile, and I appreciate that you have the option of wearing the collar open for some '70s flair or zipped up all the way to the top for a solid, sporty statement. Finally, I barely noticed the sweat marks on this catsuit when I was done working out, and my skin was dripping with sweat as it usually is after a 60-minute bike bootcamp. So while the fabric might have gotten wet, it wasn't at all soaked through, which speaks to the strength and quality of the sweat-wicking tech.

What to Consider Before Buying the Fabletics Seamless Scrunch Zip Front Jumpsuit

While I personally don't mind the fact that this jumpsuit has no built-in cups, I do have a smaller bust (34A), and many reviewers with a larger cup size noted that this bothers them. I did, however, struggle with the extra fabric that bunched up underneath the armpits, at my sides, and down the torso (see photo above). Depending on how I was moving, this was a bit of an issue visually, but the jumpsuit never became revealing or prevented me from accomplishing certain exercises. Presumably, this is also why the brand recommends sizing down for a tighter fit. Some shoppers also note that the zipper on the front must be pulled all the way to the top to keep things in place, and those with a bigger chest said that with movement, the zipper comes undone. While I didn't have a problem with the zipper, I definitely feel like this piece is better suited to someone with a longer torso — I'm 5'1" and petite, for reference.
