Since the start of her career, Lizzo has been outspoken about the importance of loving your body [2] and loving who you are, but even the "Good as Hell" singer [3] needs moments to reflect. In a TikTok video shared to her account on Nov. 22, Lizzo opened up about experiencing insecurities and reflected on the mental and physical value of being kind to one's self. "I've been really insecure lately, and it's made me really sad sometimes — like crying so hard," Lizzo began the video, which included clips of her posing on a beach at sunset. "And I realized, I'm not insecure about the way my body is. I'm more insecure about how I feel inside of my body."

Lizzo went on to say that she was faced with a decision: to wallow in her insecurities or allow herself room to grow mentally and emotionally. "I had to make a decision to be patient with myself, to have conversations out loud by myself, with myself, and really talk myself off of the ledge," she said. "I'm not crazy. I'm just human, and I have to stop being so hard on myself. So, here's to taking it easy and making it look breezy. I'm back, baby." By giving herself time to process her feelings, she was able to reset her mind and move forward with a more positive outlook.

Lizzo's message was all the more powerful played over clips of her posing for photos in the ocean waves and twerking alongside a rocky cliff. Watch Lizzo's full TikTok video here, and find out how to treat yourself to some more self-care [4] on a regular basis.
