7 Surprisingly Fun Ways to Sneak In Some Exercise
Staying active and working out is a great way of life, but it doesn't all have to happen inside of the gym — there are plenty of ways to exercise that are fun. From cooking with friends in your kitchen to throwing around the frisbee at the park on a warm day, we found seven out-of-the-box activities that will help you sneak in a workout that feels like play.
Explore the neighborhood by bike
Head outside for a leisurely bike ride (roughly 11-12 miles per hour), knowing that it will probably take you about 15 minutes to spark up a sweat. The faster you pedal and the longer you're outside, the more of a workout you'll get.
Stretch out your body at home
Watching TV and want to burn some calories during the commercials? Take 30 minutes to stretch and roll out and you'll feel relaxed and loose before you know it.
Go shopping
The next time someone tells you to cure your shopping addiction, you can roll your eyes at them because you know an hour of casual shopping isn't just about exercising your wallet. From walking up and down a popular shopping street to trying clothes on over and over again, you can really get your heart rate up (and not just because of that sale tag)!
Go swimming or have a pool party
Cannonball right into the refreshing water the next time you're at a pool party. Swimming is a fun activity that allows you to be social and active at the same time.
Attend a Music Festival
Grab a couple of friends and head to a music festival! You will spend a lot of your day walking between stages and even more of your time dancing.
Cooking
Move around your kitchen whipping up a tasty (and healthy!) new dish.
Rearrange a room in the house
Time to redecorate! Moving furniture and other household items around can get tiring, but it's a great way to exercise your vision for your future and your body.
