Manage Your Diet
Everybody runs differently on different foods. Your body needs some fuel before you head out for a run, but keep it small and experiment with what works best for your stomach. As a general rule, greasy, fried, or fiber-heavy foods will negatively impact your run and may have you running to the nearest public restroom rather than your favorite trail! Calories count, too; a three-mile run burns approximately 300 calories, so keep your pre- or postrun snacks modest.
