All of the Songs I'll Be Putting on My Pump-Up Playlist to Crush My 2020 Fitness Goals

Jan 4 2020 - 8:15am

Setting intentions for the new year can seem daunting, but whether you want to run a 5K [1], get stronger overall, or practice more intuitive fitness [2], we want you to know that when it comes to following through with exercise goals, we're here to help. I, for one, love a good pump-up playlist because it gets me motivated to conquer my sweat session and, after the fact, the rest of my day. It's just what I need to lace up my shoes and show up for my workout.

There are a lot of songs released in 2019 that I absolutely love to put on while lifting weights or counting down the minutes of cardio. For starters, there's Selena Gomez [3]'s "Look at Her Now [4]," Normani's "Motivation [5]," and anything by Lizzo [6]. But, the tried-and-true hits from my teenage years and beyond also haven't failed me; they can consistently get me in the best possible mood to exercise. I mean, who wouldn't want to go all out while The Killers, with all the angst in the world, belt out "Mr. Brightside"? And Pink's "Get the Party Started" will forever be a get-up-and-slay hit.

Ahead, you'll find the songs I'll be jamming out to as I attempt to crush my fitness goals in 2020 (those goals include, for example, doing a quick glute workout [7] on the days when I might not feel like getting in an entire sweat session). The playlist contains 55 songs total and lasts over three hours so that you don't run out of options to choose from. Ahead is the full Spotify playlist as well as a compilation of the songs on YouTube. Whether your favorites are the nostalgic hits (how about "Sk8er Boi" and some Paramore?), or you're totally in for the new dance music, let's get this!
