Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams Take On Tantric Yoga, and It Looks Hard as Hell

What do partner stunts, feather play, and using a singing bowl [1] have in common? Sarah Hyland and fiancé Wells Adams [2] tried all of this — done in tantric yoga — right from the comfort of their couch as part of Lady Parts [3], an Ellen Original series launching Wednesday, Oct. 7, hosted by Hyland along with ob-gyn Sherry Ross [4]. It went well . . . ish.

The couple, who had to postpone their wedding due to COVID-19 [5], take on sensory techniques and Cirque du Soleil-esque poses to feel more bonded — something tantric yoga is supposed to help with. Watch this play out for yourself in the clip above. Sure, maybe they aren't the most graceful of posers (partner flying looks really hard, and so does that partner version of Downward Dog), but it's all about giving it your best shot. And try they did!

"Tantric yoga weaves together many yogic and meditative practices [6] to help you get as deep an understanding of yourself as possible, so that you can accept that self," tantra practitioner Sarrah Rose told Healthline. And the tantric-yoga teachers leading the session shown here reiterated that participating with a partner can bring connection to the self and one's significant other. Hyland and Adams tested out the waters of this yoga practice, and they made it out (almost) unscathed. Namaste!
