Netflix's New Docuseries, The Playbook, Spotlights Some of the All-Time Greatest Coaches

If there was ever a time for more sports documentaries, the time is now, when we're just getting back to watching our favorite athletes compete. On Sept. 22, Netflix is debuting a five-part docuseries, The Playbook, that profiles iconic coaches Doc Rivers, Jill Ellis, José Mourinho, Patrick Mouratoglou, and Dawn Staley.

Each 30-minute episode includes rules these coaches live by and lessons they've learned along the way to greatness. We already know it's going to be spectacular just by watching the trailer. "Mountain tops are small and the air is thin for a reason," Ellis says, "because you're not supposed to dwell on top of the mountain." And Staley states what we all need to hear: "Sometimes you have to take steps that make you uncomfortable to understand where you are and where you want to be."

The Playbook is produced by the SpringHill Company, Delirio Films, and Boardwalk Pictures and directed by Sarah Feeley, Josh Greenbaum, John Henion, and Alexandria Stapleton.
