Alton Brown's love of coffee [2] runs deep, and he just might be opening his own coffee shop to prove it. A resident of Marietta, GA, Alton thinks the city could benefit from a new coffee joint. He tweeted, "Hey #Marietta...we need a new coffee shop and I think I'm just the guy to open it" on Jan. 29. Naturally, fans were immediately intrigued and excited to learn more details — is Alton actually serious about opening his own spot?

Eater Atlanta reached out to Alton for comment, and if Alton's response is any indication of how this idea will pan out, we're in for a treat . . . maybe. "It is my intention to open a coffee shop in Marietta, GA [5], though I'm not at a point where I can release any details," Alton told Eater Atlanta in an email. "I can tell you this — no, no, I've said too much already." Classic. Here's hoping we'll soon be able to drink one of Alton's favorite coffee beverages — a cortado [6] — made by the man himself.
