Hold Up! Don't Pop Open That Bottle of Angry Orchard Until You Read This

Aug 6 2015 - 9:00am

You may want to check that bottle of hard cider in your fridge before popping it open. Angry Orchard [1] has voluntarily recalled certain cases (24-packs), 12-packs, and six-packs of its Crisp Apple Hard Cider [2]. The reason: the bottle may burst or overflow upon opening. Bottles manufactured on two dates — June 15 and June 29 — have shown signs of undergoing a secondary fermentation, which produces additional carbonation. The good news: if consumed, the cider won't make you sick, though it may taste a bit off.

The Boston-Beer-owned company is recalling the following:

Angry Orchard will issue a full refund to customers with affected bottles; be sure to safely dispose of the bottle outside.
