Ever since I spotted this cocktail in Market-Fresh Mixology, I've been dying to try it. With my renewed focus on fresh fruits and vegetables, the weekend was the perfect time to give The Apple Cocktail a shot.

The key is to find a large fruit that sits evenly so it makes for a well-balanced cup. The cozy combination of apple, cinnamon, and lemon means you'll be done with the drink in no time — and the beverage's rustic presentation would make it the perfect après-ski libation. Charm your drinking buddies with this recipe when you read more.

The Apple Cocktail

The Apple Cocktail

  1. 1 whole apple, ideally one with a flatter bottom
  2. 1 lemon wedge
  3. 1 apple wedge, cut in half
  4. 1 ounce unsweetened apple juice
  5. 1 ounce limoncello
  6. 1/2 ounce vanilla vodka
  7. Splash cranberry juice
  8. 1 cinnamon stick, for garnish
  9. Short clear straw

  1. Core the apple to about the halfway point. Be certain not to cut through the bottom. Use the lemon wedge to squeeze a small amount of lemon juice on inside of cored apple. Set aside.
  2. In mixing glass, muddle apple wedge and unsweetened apple juice. Add limoncello, vanilla vodka, and cranberry juice. Shake well. Strain into cored apple and serve with a small straw.
  3. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.

Makes 1 drink.
