Can You Identify These Classic Sandwiches?

The first written record of the word "sandwich" occurred 246 years ago today. Apparently Edward Gibbons wrote about it in his journal. Since then the sandwich has come a long way! To celebrate the beloved lunch dish, I've put together a quiz. I'll list a bunch of ingredients and you tell me the name of the sandwich. Ready? Go!

Can You Identify These Classic Sandwiches?

Yeah, well ruebens & monte cristos with turkey "gross" me out... But what do you think of tuna melts like I described? They're REALLY GOOD with smoked tuna or salmon. Hell, I made one just yesterday combining both fish... OH, MY, GOD - AMBROSIA! YUMMY!

Also, by definition a croque monsieur is just ham and cheese, and a croque madame is the one with egg, so the answer choices are wrong.

Number 4 is WRONG. The egg on a croque madame is not beated. The egg is just sort of put on top and is fried, but not beaten. I used to live in Paris and have eaten plenty :)

7/8 Love Quizno's tuna melt sandwiches! Can't always get there to buy them. But then I realized I could make them myself! If anybody's interested - Here you go... 2 crusty rolls or 6-9" baguette canned tuna (drain, add enough mayo to hold together) *try smoked!* cheese slices (Havarti, mozzarella, Swiss, cheddar) **put tuna mixture & cheese on 1 half of roll/baguette, pop under grill till tuna warm & cheese has melted. Remove & let cool)** Add to above: mayo honey mustard red onion slices grilled bacon slices black olives lettuce Once a month I indulge myself with one YUMMY sandwich! I also like grilled ham & cheese; monte cristos & egg salad sandwiches.

I'm thinking a grilled cheese with gouda and sprouts sounds really good tonight...

Well American people don't do the Croque monsieur as French people do. Dipped in beaten egg? That's the first time I'm hearing about that.
