Come Party With Me: Little Girl's Birthday — Invite

Jan 21 2008 - 7:28am

Last week, FitSugar [1] asked me if I would like to help her plan a very special birthday party. Her daughters' birthdays are only three days apart, so she will host one spectacular birthday for both of them. Her girls are still young— one will be 3 and the other will be 5 — and she will be inviting a bunch of children, so she's decided not to host the party at her house. Fit's party will be at a kindergym where the girls will get to run around and practice gymnastics. But before the fun can begin, we have to send an invitation. To see how I made this invite, .

To make a similar invite you will need the following supplies:

To assemble the invite:

  1. Start by creating a new word document. Write out the details of the event. I used the font Curlz MT in size 20 to write the following message:
You’re Invited to a Romp and Stomp Party
    with Patty and Elizabeth
    At Kindergym
    To celebrate their birthdays!

    Sunday, February 17, 2008
    1:15 pm
    Kindergym, YMCA Berkeley, CA

    Fabulous leotards welcome!
    Please RSVP to FitSugar 510.555.5555

Add the image of the gymnast to the text.

  2. Print out on a piece of plain paper and check for grammar or spelling mistakes. Once satisfied with the text, print out on the cardstock.
  3. With the scissors, cut the cardstock down to size. Turn over.
  4. Glue the decorative paper to the back of the invite. Turn over and cut down to size. Set aside.
  5. With the single hole punch, punch out a bunch of colored paper holes. Decoratively glue the holes to the back and front of the invite.
  6. Stick in an envelope and send!
