21 #MealPrep Ideas That Are Anything but Boring

Did You Receive a Kitchen Gift This Holiday?

This Christmas, did you find the KitchenAid attachment that you've been wanting under the tree? Or perhaps receive the edible gift of your dreams?

Before the holidays, my friend Daisy presented me with some scrumptious peppermint bark, and I was elated!

If you did get the gourmet gift of your dreams, I'd love to hear what you received in the comments below!

I got a Costco membership from my mom. Does that count since it'll be used mostly to buy food. lol. She got tired of me borrowing her card.

I got a really neat food gift. It was a gift certificate for 2 dinners from We redeemed it for scallop risotto and filet mignon. Yum! It's cooked and then flash frozen before being shipped to you, so then you just bake or boil the package when you get it according to the instructions. It came out looking and tasting like we'd just ordered it a restaurant. Very neat and definitely a cool gift.

I got a gift card to Sur la Table and ended up with a marble pastry board. Space saver, not so much, but I will definitely enjoy using it.

Yes, I FINALLY got my KitchenAid mixer! I've been wanting one since I got married and my husband finally got it for me. I got him an infrared thermometer that HE really loved, so it worked out well. I've already gone kind of crazy with the baking and stuff...I LOVE it!!!!

After learning to cook over two years ago, I finally received a food processor (very exciting, it's Cuisinart!). I also received a very sophisticated wine chiller/warmer. My cabernet is now at perfect serving temperature in under 17 minutes :) Other gifts: gourmet hazelnut candies, peppermint hot cocoa, and peach green tea energy drinks (not so sure about that last one). In the past, I was disgruntled by cooking gifts for birthdays or holidays, but this year it was very welcome. I now see cooking as a way to save money and spend more time at home! Anything that helps me do that is good in my book :)

I got some little accessories from my aunt and uncle. My favourite was the cutest little cheese grater - it's a mouse and you can remove the grater part and replace it with a lid in case you want to store any to use later. It's just too cute!
