i've only had airline food once or twice...i found that it wasn't so bad if you have some salt and pepper to season it.

what airline food? you don't even get fed anymore unless you're on an international flight or in first class!

I have found, when I have been bumped up to business on international flights, that the food is excellent. Doesn't hurt that they offer you mimosas and never-ending glasses of wine. And a cheese course with fruit :)

International flights seem to have better food. I still remember the food on the first flight I took overseas when I was 7. The dessert was a chocolate mousse in dark chocolate bowls. I thought is was the coolest thing at the time. It was on British Airways flying to London from Chicago.

I'm a vegetarian so plane foods usually consist of too soft and overcooked veggies. The best thing is the coffee or any drink.

If you ever fly Iberia....bring your own food! The chicken they serve reminds me off all the gross parts of dark meat I don't eat....tendons and other lovely things. =x Stale bread, canned shrimp salad...yum.

The closest I've really had to airplane food is orange juice and pretzels, so I can't actually say. I probably wouldn't like it too much though. I'm pretty picky about what I eat, so I probably wouldn't want to waste calories on blah food (unless I was just super hungry).

Does anyone know how the food is on ANA? I am flying to Tokyo and then onto Singapore in a few weeks and want to know if I need to pack some meals...

You mean they still actually serve food on airplanes? *LOL!* (tells y'all how short my trips are, right?) All I ever get are perhaps some cookies or crappy little pretzels.

Airplane food is so gross! I can't see how anyone could ever like that food,

It really depends. I've had some great food, like butternut squash ravioli, and some horrible food, pink coloured chicken and green rice. With the cost of the running an airline going up, it's not surprising that they've contracted food out. But if you don't like that, then bring your own food. It is allowed.

I generally find it ok but I think South African Airways has really great food whether its the normal meals or Kosher or vegetarian.. all are good. Bfast I usually find the worst meal- runny scrambled eggs and dinner I think is the best. SAA has the greatest desserts!!

Reading other people's comments, I have to agree that being served food on a plane doesn't happen often unless you are doing some long-distance traveling. I don't even get a bag of peanuts on 2-hour flights anymore!

I mean, I'm not making reservations just to eat the food, but I think it tastes fine.

The best meal I've ever had on an airplane was Spinach and Ricotta stuffed canneloni and Air Transat. I agree that Air Canada sucks. But they no long provide complementary meals. You have to order from a limited list of entree's from the retail chain Kelsey's Menu. Better than their old meals, but still incredibly sub-par.
