Fashionable Tips For the Perfect Party

MTV's new House of Style debuted over the weekend and with it a fun segment on hosting a dinner party. Since I'm always on the lookout for fabulous new ways to make my soirees more stylish, I tuned in. Fashion designer Erin Fetherston shared five tips for creating the ultimate dinner. While Fetherston obviously doesn't cook, her ideas are festive and fun. To find out what they are and check out a video of her dinner,

.

  1. Choose your theme. Fetherston's is "Enchanted," a whimsical fairy tale.
  2. It can be simple — ask everyone to wear a fun hat.
  3. Design your decor. You know I'm all about creating a look for a party and I love how Fetherston uses rose petals and candles to transform her house from everyday to party day.
  4. Create homemade favors. I want to know how Fetherston made the sparkly animal masks!
  5. Select your menu. Well, of course it's a dinner party.
  6. Enjoy! This is my favorite tip. It's the most important thing to remember when throwing a party; if you're not having fun, don't host one.

What do you think of her tips? Do you feel inspired to host your own fantasy dinner?

A theme that actually requires modicum of intelligence to come up with does create a lot of laughs and fun. . .but what do you talk about when you have a sparkly bunny on your head??? I died laughing at the sight of grown women sitting at a party wearing glittered animals and taking themselves seriously!

I just went to party where chocolates with jokes were handed out to man and women alike. The jokes were edgy and the chocolate melted in our mouths as we laughed hysterically!!! The theme of the Giggle Bites chocolate jokes were Battle of The Sexes and the jokes were perfect for the mixed company!!! What a fun way to break the ice and see a lighter side of people who I always thought were stiff and serious. I wonder if they have a Mother-in Law theme???

Who wouldn't scared of the glittering bunny head and its hollow eyes? Horror show, I say.

That bunny head in the picture is completely terrifying. Reminds me of Frank in Donnie Darko...
