"L'Idiot is actually a really high-end fine-dining restaurant in Taiwan. I went in there because it sounded hilarious, but I ended up paying the equivalent of like two hundred pounds. That one does have a proper story behind it. The name is based on a restaurant that appears in a Steve Martin movie called LA Story, and in the film, he is trying to get a reservation at this really fancy French restaurant and the French restaurant is called L'idiot. That place was really bizarre. I expected it to be a joke restaurant without proper food, but you go inside and it's like Alice in Wonderland; it's got extravagant tiled walls like in Aladdin's cave. The food is nouveau cuisine with tiny portions and three to five courses."
