21 #MealPrep Ideas That Are Anything but Boring

Gift Jars: Love It or Hate It?

The ease of gifting one of these jars is a pretty appealing option for the holiday season. Prep the dry ingredients for a favorite cookie or soup recipe, include instructions for making, and decorate with ribbon — simple enough. I just don't know if I would be thrilled to be on the receiving end. They're cute, but I'd prefer indulging in the already-prepared version of the recipe! What do you think?

I'm not a huge fan. :-/ I'd rather make cookies for you — or receive cookies as a gift — but I'm not a huge fan of something in between!

I hate them, I think they are super tacky.

I think gifts are about the gesture, not the content. I love this, and any other hand-made, personal-touch gift.

it's such a cute idea. my little brother gave me a "sand art" cookie jar mix for christmas which i was told to open early in order to bake them last night. they were delicious!

I have never gotten or given one of these but I might start doing it because they look absolutely adorable. If you don't use it, it can make a very pretty addition to your kitchen decor.

I love these options you can do soups and other savory items in addition to cookies and sweets.

I've never received one, but I would like it, simply because I could choose when to make what's in it. Most cookies don't last for very long.

I'm not a fan since I'd rather pick out my own ingredients if I'm going to bake cookies.

Considering I've always wanted one of those cute little jars, I would love it. :D Besides, as much as I would love to receive cookies :P, I'm a novice cook/baker so I'd actually love if someone prepped something up like that for me! It depends on who you're giving it to I guess.

I think it's a creative gift for new bakers or cooks. I don't really bake cookies so if someone gave me that, I would totally try it out!

I like it. that way, if you already have tons of Christmas treats at home, you can prepare the cookies on your own time instead of having to worry about eating everything or throwing it out.

Considering most of those mixes require adding additional ingredients and time to get a finished product its like someone handing you a beautifully wrapped empty gift box. Here's the box, just add gift. I'm a mom who is cooking doing everything to make Christmas special for everyone. The last thing I need is one more thing to do. If you want to give someone cookies... make them.. don't give them some ingredients and instructions.
