Have You Ever Entered a Recipe Contest?

Yesterday, for lunch, the kind folks at Mezzetta sent us a couple of delicious eggplant tartines made by chef David Bazirgan. The sandwiches are a part of the brand's just-launched sandwich competition, Make That Sandwich. The recipe contest has both a celebrity chef (which Bazirgan is competing in) and home-cook category. Although I've never entered a recipe contest, for some reason, I'm toying with the idea of developing a hot sandwich and submitting it. How about you? Would you, or have you, enrolled a dish in a recipe contest?

I just entered this altered dinner recipe for a small contest on a consumer panel I belong to for a big food company: http://www.eat-the-evidence.com/2011/03/31/hearty-skillet-supper/ Other than that I haven't entered recipe contests. Cake contests, yes, several, and won, but no other recipe contests.

I have both entered and won contests. I currently administer a website that lists summaries of recipe contests -- hundreds each year!

No, but I always ponder entering the Sutter Home Build a Better Burger contest that's featured on FN!
