It's like Christmas cake for Italians. Panettone, a sweet bread in the shape of a dome, hails from Milan but is eaten throughout the entire country and is typically made using raising and candied citrus peels. It's not easy to prepare, though: made from a sour dough starter, it rises several times, and takes a few days to bake.
