How to Chop Using a Food Processor

Simple Tip: Use the Food Processor to Chop

I use my food processor practically every time I cook. It makes chopping a large amount of vegetables quick and easy. Here's how you do it: slice the vegetables into chunks and toss into the food processor. Pulse several times until the veggies are chopped. Use accordingly. Be careful not to overstuff the processor — if it's too full, some vegetables won't get chopped. Also, avoid overprocessing: you want diced veggies not veggie puree. Do you use your food processor to chop?

I just got one over the summer and I have really enjoyed it. I should really branch out and try it for chopping. I use it mostly for mixing. It has that slicer tool as well I need to try out.

Embarrassingly, I have to weigh my laziness when I'm cooking. Often, I'd rather just chop the vegetables by hand than have to wash and dry all of the components of the food processor.

I use mine for onions, especially when I need to chop a lot of them. It cuts down on the horrible onion-induced crying, to which I'm especially sensitive, apparently.

If I didn't have an ancient Cuisinart that weighed 20 pounds, I'd take it out more often to use it!

I use it quite a bit, but could probably use it even more. I always get worried that it will chop my onions too finely.

I usually use mine to chop nuts. I'll have to try it with more things.
