When I was a kid I used to collect them in my lunch box. They would cover the inside of the lid. I have no idea why I did that. lol

As someone who works in a grocery store, they are awesome. Mondaymoos pointed out that there are cheatsheets up front, but honestly? Think of how much time is added on to a checkout if the cashier has to look up 3 or 4 different kinds of produce. My store has notebooks full of codes (produce, cases of water, firewood, ice, etc.) When a cashier needs to look up a code, it can take upwards of 30 seconds. At busy times of the day (noon, 5PM) that can make a difference between you standing in line for ten minutes or twenty. We don't want to deal with you when you get nasty from having to wait.I don't see why someone would dislike them much anyways. It's not like they take long to remove.

Yup, I agree with the other self-checkout gals... I actually seek out the stickers so I can identify the items more easily.

They don't really bother me unless they are hard to remove. I also thought it said Snickers, at first glance :)

I don't really mind them at the grocery store. They are helpful to the cashiers, especially when I buy something "weird" that they aren't sure of what it is. :) They are also helpful in identifying organic and GMO produce (5 digits long, organic starts with 9, GMO with 8) I hate when I see them at the farmer's market, though. I don't buy the produce that has it on there. I look for the local, fresh stuff grown by small places.

Once I bought a butternut squash that had a sticker on it that said "I have a heart of gold." That was pretty awesome. I hate how they peel the skin off tomatoes though.

LOVE the Cuties' stickers. So fun! Until they start tattooing the produce with the machine described above by bluesarahlou, we pretty much need the stickers for IDing what's what.Oh, and I don't see anything wrong with the topic of stickers! :) This is a food site. It's all fun.
