Ingredients

  1. 1 cinnamon stick
  2. 5 whole green cardamom pods
  3. 5 whole cloves
  4. 5 whole black peppercorns
  5. 2 1-inch pieces ginger root, sliced
  6. 1 1/2 cups water
  7. 1 tablespoon loose black tea
  8. 1/2 cup milk
  9. Honey (or sugar) to taste

Directions

  1. In a small pot, combine cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, peppercorns, ginger, and water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 5-10 minutes, depending on preferred strength.
  2. Remove from heat, add tea, and steep for 3-5 minutes. Strain through a fine mesh sieve and return liquid to the pot. Discard solids.
  3. Over a low heat, stir in honey and milk and cook until heated through. Pour into mugs, and top with frothed milk and cinnamon, if desired.

That looks pretty scrumptious. Must get a milk frother.

I don't have the tools at my disposal right now (at work) to whip up a batch of this goodness, but this is SO happening when I get home. In the meantime, a bag of Stash chai with vanilla creamer will have to suffice...
