Back of An Inside Look at San Francisco's Newest Cake Shop A couple of weeks ago I was invited to the opening of a new Miette shop in San Francisco's Marina district. Founded in 1991, Miette bakery is known for its charming cakes made with only the finest ingredients. With its pretty green walls and bright blue cake stands, the bakery is whimsical and beautiful. At the party, guests mingled with the owners while sipping on pink champagne and nibbling choquettes — a puffy, slightly sweet French dough ball. It was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Angelica 8 years Cute! jelleebeen 8 years Walked by Miette this past weekend. It's so adorable and definitely had a lot of customers. Can't wait to try it -- I fell in love with choquettes when I was in Paris last year. I love how Miette makes you feel like a kid again. nycscoop 8 years Forgot to mention: their gingersnaps are to-die-for. nycscoop 8 years Was just at Miette on Saturday. Such a cute shop. I like this location better than the one in Hayes Valley and think they will do better in the Marina. It will be interesting to see if both Miette and Sweet Dish (directly across the street) will both survive. fleurfairy 8 years Adorable! I wish I owned a bakery like this.
