Jenna Bush's Wedding Cake: Love It or Hate It?

Jenna Bush's Wedding Cake: Love It or Hate It?

The President's daughter, Jenna Bush, was recently married in a lavish but down-to-earth wedding at her family's ranch in Texas. Few details have been released about the ceremony, reception, and menu but rumor has it the cake was created by the Ultimate Cheesecake Bakery. The tres leches/dulce de leche cake had whipped cream frosting and fresh floral arrangements. By the time this photo was taken, the top tier of the confection had started to fall. While it's sad the top was tilting, it's probably something the happy couple will laugh about for years to come. I'm a huge fan of dulce de leche and can only imagine how delicious the cake must have tasted. Thoughts?

The thing is, they waited until way late at night to actually cut it!  It was perfect when it was first put together. I know because my aunt was the one who made this cake, by the way. Its made of MILK, what do you thinks gonna happen to a cake like this after that many hours outside during the summer?

You people take the cake! If you have seen any recent cake designs you would know that it is hard to find a design these days that does not incorporate one or more layers to appear unstable. It is part of the artistry. Seriously. You can research it.

I wouldn't care about the cake tipping; it's kind of cute. However: dulce de leche - YUK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Too sweet.

Oh, I disagree...the original post (linked in the article) clearly states that the pastry chef was ushered out by Secret Service before she could ensure confectionary perfection! :)

of all the things that could go wrong on a wedding day, the tipping top tier isn't that big a deal! i think it's pretty!

Of course the cake is leaning to the Right. Your tax dollars at work.

I think it's surprisingly elegant and love the flowers, but I'm not convinced on the dulce de leche. I know you love it party, but it's a bit much for my taste ;)
