French bakery Ladurée [2] is well known for its macarons and fancy pastries, but the bakery just made a move to jump on the food hybrid trend and give us the ultimate combination: macaron ice cream sandwiches. In honor of National Ice Cream Sandwich Day earlier this week, Ladurée surprised fans with its new concept, dubbed Macaron Glacé, making this the fanciest ice cream sandwich, ever.

Based on the photo, it looks like the new sandwiches are made with macarons a bit larger than Ladurée's usual bite-size sweets, but the bigger the better when it comes to dessert. The best part about this news is that we don't have to travel to indulge — Ladurée has locations in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and Washington DC, so if you're in the area, you're going to want to check out the Macaron Glacé as soon as possible [3].

While Ladurée is not the first place to introduce the macaron ice cream sandwich [4], the pastry chefs are doing it in a way that makes the hybrid look classier than ever before. We're drooling already!
