Mario's Sticking with Food Network?

Mario's Sticking with Food Network?

Looks like either the New York Post (and thus the rest of the food world and ABC News) was fed some false information, or Food Network has had a change of heart.

The folks at Edible TV and Newsday are both reporting that Mario's departure from Food Network was just a hot rumor.

"Mario is very much a part of Food Network" said Mark O'Connor, the network's vice president of public relations. "He is continuing to do a couple of episodes of 'Iron Chef America.'" O'Connor conceded that neither "Molto Mario" nor "Ciao America with Mario Batali" were in production but noted that the former program "still airs in repeats."

Mario's assistant and media maven, Pamela Lewy, has also confirmed that Mario is still with Food Network and that he is currently taping the next season of Iron Chef America. She also does not understand why the NY Post created the story.

Another Food Network source has also said that along with the new ICA episodes, Mario will also continue to film specials with the network.

I'm not totally sure what to make of it all, but I'm guessing it's stuff like this that makes Mario hate bloggers...

I also like Paula Dean, she reminds me of the mom you would love to have. She is always happy without being fake, and she makes great desserts with tons of butter!!

Because she is OCD, that's why. I never watch Sandra Lee...I generally watch Food Network for "Unwrapped", "Iron Chef America" and anything Alton Brown does.

I still can't figure out why Rachael Ray is so popular....I watch the food network every day for several hours, and I have never made any of her recipes. Her stuff looks worse then my high school cafeteria days. I love Tyler Florence, he does several different shows and they are all great. Tons of great ideas. Ina is another good one, a little over the top with catering to Jeffery, but great recipes. Will somebody tell my why Sandre Lee has to have her clothes and kitchen match the color of the food she is making?

I love Food Network. I'm glad that Mario is sticking around for ICA and will be filming some specials.

PBS has a few intelligent, actually interesting cooking shows. I don't like Giada, emeril or Bobby Flay, but they deserve some respect. Which is more than I can say for the majority of the 'personalities' on FN. Where did Robin Miller come from? I watched her show a couple of times--I have to say her food may rival sandra lee's for looking the most unappetizing and inedible.

FN has become such a joke. Sandra Lee, Rachael Ray, Robin Miller, they all are a waste of space. I like Michael C., Giada, and Bobby Flay. If Mario stays on, even part-time, it will be good for them.
