Noteworthy Nibbles — July 24-30, 2008

As usual, there are lots of delicious occasions to celebrate this week. For the more adventurous eaters, Rocky Mountain oysters will be on the menu in Wyoming. Not to worry if you aren't: You might enjoy celebrating the venerated garlic or, on the milder side, the sweet cantaloupe. If you live in Baltimore, it's your week to try out top-notch restaurants, where a three-course lunch might cost you just $20.08.

If there's something going on this week that we left out, feel free to add it in the comments below.

To see the rest,

*For those of you in the Bay Area: I'll be attending the Epicurious Wine. Dine. Donate dinner, hosted by The Next Iron Chef contestant Traci Des Jardins. If you're at the event, stop by and say hello!

YumSugar, someday you have to sample Rocky Mountain oysters. The Clinton event may be a bit ribald for some tastes, but there are dozens of Rocky Mountain oyster feeds across the region, especially in the spring when the produce is (OUCH) harvested. Most are low-key family events. Something of a acquired taste, but dip them in hot sauce, giggle, think of all those pain receptors you're chewing on :{ and be glad you have a vagina instead :)

As much as I love to see hometown items on here - I must point out that Ballard is a neighborhood, not a City. You know, in case someone is looking for it. It actually was it's own city WAAAAAAAY back (one of the last hold-outs on the annexing of the City of Seattle I believe). I've never been, but I do hear good things about Seafood Fest.
