It's morning — you make your coffee, grab your breakfast, and go. But what if you could free a hand with the perfect two-in-one breakfast item? Enter, the oatmeal latte. The brainchild of Johanna Hirschboeck, owner of Colorado-based coffee shop Cuppa Joe, the hybrid was created years ago for those on the go.
Hearty enough to be considered a meal but with a caffeine kick to it, the oatmeal latte seems simple enough to re-create. Hirschboeck makes the liquid breakfast by mixing whole milk and rolled oats, then cooking the combo with the espresso machine's steamer. A double shot of espresso is then added to the mug, which is garnished with a crunchy granola. The end result is a breakfast you can simultaneously sip and spoon bites out of. Sounds like a delicious solution to our busy morning problems.
