Off to Market: Cocktail Party Menu

In a few weeks, I am catering a cocktail party for my friend's Elena and Sean. They are a very intelligent couple, she's an engineer, and he's a chemist, and are so busy looking for ways to make the world a better place, that they don't have time to plan their party. Of course, they turned to me their dear friend, and life of the party, to take control of their event. Now I create a party plan every week and thought it would be fun to let you come up with the menu for this party, readers! It's a cocktail party for 15 people with both meat-lovers and vegetarians so be sure to include meaty and meatless recipes. The menu should consist of 4-5 hors d'oeuvres recipes, some cold and some hot, two sweet treat options, and a specialty cocktail. Add your awesome appetizer and cool cocktail recipes to the recipe database on TeamSugar with the tag Cocktail Party Menu. What are you waiting for? It's off to market!

When I hosted Thanksgiving, I knew I would have early arriving guests, so I had some really simple things out for them to munch on that actually were big hits. I had almonds in a nice bowl, which dissapeared quickly. I don't know where you live, but at my grocery store, they carry Sunkist almonds, which actually come in all kinds of really good flavors - they even have raw almonds, which have a really nice flavor to them. I also put out garlic stuffed olives (I saw you had olives as the picture for the article). They are very good, and actually not strong at all like you would think. These are not really recipes, but they sure add to a party! ;) Hope this helps ;)
