Oreo-Truffle-Stuffed Strawberries
Inspired by Crazy For Crust [1]
Notes
The bigger the strawberries, the better, because they'll be easier to stuff.
Ingredients
- 1 package Double Stuf Oreos
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
8 ounces chocolate, for melting
1 pound fresh strawberries
Directions
- In a food processor, chop up Oreos, including the frosting, until a fine crumb is reached. If you don't have a food processor, crush them in a plastic bag using a rolling pin. Save 1/4 cup of crushed Oreos for garnish.
- In a large bowl, mix together remaining Oreos with cream cheese. It might be easier with your hands. Once combined, roll the dough into 1/2-inch balls and place on a piece of wax paper. Place in the freezer for 15 minutes.
- While the Oreo balls are in the freezer, prep the strawberries by cutting off the tops and hollowing out the center, either with a melon baller or by carefully cutting with a knife. Then melt chocolate in a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
- Remove Oreo truffles from the freezer and stuff each strawberry with one. Dip the tops of each strawberry in the melted chocolate, and garnish with crushed Oreos.
- Place in the refrigerator until chocolate is set, and serve.
