When translated from Italian, orzo literally means barley. However it is actually a type of pasta. Smaller than a pine nut, this rice shaped pasta makes a wonderful ingredient in soups and salads.

Love, love orzo...I find that I order it, and make it at home. You can experiment so much w/ orzo, cold, hot, spicy, bland, it's all good.
