Get a Behind-the-Scenes Look at The Pioneer Woman's New Restaurant!
Ree Drummond, of The Pioneer Woman, will open a storefront/restaurant soon! She and her husband (Marlboro Man) have been busy since 2012 restoring a historical building in Pawhuska, OK. They've dubbed it the "mercantile project." She told her readers, "From the beginning of our building project, Marlboro Man and I have had a clear vision for what it would eventually become: A mercantile store in the vein of its original identity, as well as a restaurant/deli and gathering place for both locals and visitors to our area."
Construction continues, though there is a definite opening date: Oct. 31. Ree is busy developing recipes and buying things for the mercantile side of the store, what she has lovingly nicknamed gathered a staff to help with the purveying, but she's open to any ideas. She asked her fans, "If you visited a hypothetical mercantile store in a small town in Oklahoma, one that also had a restaurant and a middle child running it, what sort of things would you like to see?" I'm going to go ahead and request antique cast-iron pans, Ree. Read on to see before-and-after photos of The Merc as well as all the mouthwatering foods you can expect to eat there!
