I really like sisho. I want to cultivate it. Somebody knows what climate does it need?

i've heard of this so many times, but i've never thought to ask what it was. i like that it's got a bit of a mix of flavors and i think that if i can find it in a store around me here in the city - i'll try to make a dish with it.

For those that have a particular gene, cilantro tastes quite a bit like soap. I think it tastes like SUCKAGE. Soapy suckage.

foxie, it's odd to find shiso in Chinese food. Might you be biting into cilantro? It makes me retch as well.

Sounds really good, even with the addition of anise.

Sometimes when I get Chinese I bite into some kind of herb and it makes me wretch. It's so gross. From your description, I may have found my culprit.

At one of my favorite sushi restaurants in New York, I recently had a spicy blue crab roll with shiso leaf tucked inside of well as tempura-battered shiso leaf. A-mazing!
