I also use my tea infuser all the time for this! anything that needs a sprinkling of powdered sugar or ever a few dry ingredient shifted together just goes into my tea infuser and then I tap it against the palm of my hand and it does it perfectly

If you happen to have cheesecloth in your house, a layer of that rubberbanded around the cup works well. I also actually use my tea infuser. It's like a mini mesh strainer! ALSW - maybe foil would work for this tip instead?
