This salad's deceptively simple appearance left me completely unprepared for its exquisite taste. Kiwi and homegrown miner's lettuce, parmesan cheese, and macadamia nuts were tossed with Napa's Regina olive oil, and a "saba," or Italian-style fruit syrup, made from the freshly squeezed quince juice. The kiwis made the salad incredibly juicy, with the chopped nuts adding textural contrast.
