Is Sparkling Wine Only For Special Occasions?

One of the things I most agreed with in the book French Women Don't Get Fat was the author Mireille Guiliano's point of view on Champagne. She believes that Champagne, or any sparkling wine really, is something that should be enjoyed every day and for all occasions. The notion that bubbly only be sipped on a special occasion seems somewhat old-fashioned. If I drink red and white wine whenever I feel like it, why not imbibe sparklers in the same manner? How do you feel about it?

I don't drink it all the time since too much gives me a wicked headache...but I will have champagne when I'm in the mood.

I don't save anything for special occasions either. Life is short, and I think people should enjoy the finer things whenever they want rather than only in rare moments.

I drink it as much as wine. (Maybe even more, because if I have friends over for breakfast, I'll drink it then, hah) I don't really believe in special occasion anything. I think that mostly leads to things being wasted, like special dresses, china, or perfumes or anything.
