- Turn toaster oven to the toast setting or broil setting. Place bread slices on the rack of an oven or toaster oven. Toast until the bread has just begun to brown.

- Return bread to the oven and cook until the butter and bread turn a deep golden brown.
- Remove from oven and top with avocado, cream cheese, nut butter, or jam.
