Definition: Vegan

A purist vegetarian with an extremely limited diet. This type of person chooses to not eat foods that come from animals including butter, cheese, eggs, milk, and meat. Vegans are forced to get their protein from grains, legumes, and supplements. Strict vegans also do not wear products derived from animals, ruling out clothes made from leather, silk, suede, etc.

Seriously, guys made this out to sound like we're all deprived and starved, and lusting after other protein sources. I have been vegan for over a year, and I eat more varieties of foods than I ever did when I was an omnivore. I experiment, try foods I would have never given a chance before, and stretch my boundaries in what I cook to include more healthful options. When you don't rely on animal flesh for the staple taste in your food, you learn to be creative, and because of that I've regained a LOVE for eating. We are not FORCED to get our protein anywhere, and our diet is anything but "extremely limited".

Vegans are not "forced" to get their protein from certain sources in their "extremely limited diet." They choose to. Way to make it sound like a handicap.

Is this how a veg diet is, Kind of like mine i mostly only eat carbohydrates which is kind of bad for eating so much.

um....Real vegans don't wear animal products. Being strict has nothing to do with it. If you won't drink milk but you'll still wear leather you're just a strict vegetarian. Oh, and most annoying thing in the world? people who say "I'm a vegan but I still eat cheese"

My Dad's GF is a strict vegan. Which I find funny since my Dad eats Menudo. Anyhow, this has made it nice for my son who is now exposed to both vegans and bloody meat eaters and gets to try lots of foods he wouldn't be exposed to otherwise. He also gets to learn about proteins and such in all sorts of foods so he will be able to make his own good choices when he's older.
